Crazy for LOA

So, yesterday and today I took my obsession/compulsion to new lengths.

Families in the special needs adoption process must wait for the LOA, Letter of Acceptance.
After signing and returning this, they wait for TA, Travel Approval.
Then, they finally get to go to China.
From LOA to travel time is about 6 weeks.

So, why am I obsesses?

First of all, our dearest friends received the LOA on Friday. They were logged in 17 days before we were; however, Chinese New Year passed after the LID, so there are only 10 LID's after theirs to ours.

But, on Saturday night, very late, I learned of a family who also received LOA on Friday. Their LID-log in date-was the day after ours!!!!!!!

So, now I'm thinking...why can't we get ours???????????????? I was hoping beyond hope that our agency just hadn't yet received the package, and we would get the awesome call today.
But, no one's working in Michigan now.

So, I can still hope for tomorrow. If we don't hear by Wednesday, then I'll have to settle down for a 2 week wait, at the least. China has a week long holiday May 1-7, so now paperwork will be processed then. If by some marvelous surprise, our LOA was mailed today, April 30, then the latest we would hear would be Wednesday.

So, once again, I'll try to sleep.

Gifts from Heaven

I woke up this morning a little discouraged. The wait for TA (travel approval) can be so painful. You know your child's face, and you know where she is. Still, you can't go get her!

Then, I made myself get out of the bed. I went to check my email. "Surprise!" I had pictures from China. God knew I needed encouragement today. What an awesome God we serve!
