Why We Call Our Blog the Miracle of More

The miracle is a beautiful image of Ephesians 3:20--more than I can ask or imagine. Every day is a miracle. Every moment is a miracle. Specifically for our family, the miracle of more is our family growing in ways I would never have imagined when we first committed to adoption 8 years ago. But, the greatest miracle is the change in ME!

If you have questions about adoption, our work in South Africa, or spina bifida, please email me at rbmattox@bellsouth.net

My Heart Is Full

This past Sunday was Sanctity of Human Life Sunday, and our associate pastor gave such a wonderful Spirit filled sermon. Throughout the service, my mind continued to wander towards our Ellie.

While Brother Bryan preached the 139th Psalm, I couldn't help but be reminded of Ellie through David's words, "Thou hast covered me in my mother's womb." Many of you are aware that our Ellie has spina bifida. Before we committed to Ellie, we prayed so fervently, seeking God's direction. One thing was clear through my prayers. Ellie was fearfully and wonderfully made, and God's works are marvelous! While we may look at Ellie and see her "special needs," I know that God fashioned her members and they are all written in His book, just as He created them.

Can you picture that? Can you see the Hand of Almighty God covering her mother's womb, fashioning each of her members? I think of her so many times in a day, and then I think, "How precious are God's thoughts unto her! How great is the sum of them!"

We continue to pray for her every single day, several times a day. She has made such progress, from not using her legs at all to crawling everywhere! We pray that the phsycial therapy she is undergoing now will enable her to learn to walk. We know that God, who fashioned her spinal cord, who fashioned her legs, can give her the strength to walk!

Take a peak at her beauty!

News From China

I've been in contact with Amy again. It is such a blessing to be able to have a connection to Ellie while we wait.
Amy said Chun Chun (Our Ellie) is going for therapy outside the foster home 2 days each week. We pray the LORD will send wisdom to the nannies at the foster home and that our Ellie will soon be learning to walk.
The mother from Holland was at the foster home today. She did take pictures of Ellie for me, according to Amy. I hope to see them soon.

More Pictures Coming

My new "friend" from Holland received her Travel Approval. She'll be traveling on Friday to meet her precious son. He is also at Amazing Hands. She said she'll take some more pictures of Ellie for me. So, keep checking.

And More Pictures Today

I just love surprises from our Heavenly Father! A friend said she believes he laughs with joy when he sends us such surprises. Following my multiple posts, I received a new email today from a mother in Holland. Her son in the same foster home with Ellie. She had some pictures of Ellie from a time when she was younger. Praise the LORD!

New Pictures of Ellie

We do serve an awesome God! This morning, I received new pictures of Ellie from China. I thank God for my fellow sister in the LORD, serving others in China. Not only is she lovingly caring for orphans in China, she is taking the time to email a waiting mom new pictures of her beautiful daughter.
I hope you all enjoy the pictures as much as I did!
Blessings,
Robbie

Josie-Tatum is a jiejie!

Josie-Tatum is a jiejie, a big sister. She is more excited than most people might imagine. Of course, she doesn't completely understand how much her life is going to change when her mei mei comes home from China. Then again, we never knew how much she would change our lives either! We are thankful to our LORD for adding to our family again through adoption. He allows us to experience a little bit of heaven when, like He adopts us into His family, we can adopt another child into ours.
