Why We Call Our Blog the Miracle of More

The miracle is a beautiful image of Ephesians 3:20--more than I can ask or imagine. Every day is a miracle. Every moment is a miracle. Specifically for our family, the miracle of more is our family growing in ways I would never have imagined when we first committed to adoption 8 years ago. But, the greatest miracle is the change in ME!

If you have questions about adoption, our work in South Africa, or spina bifida, please email me at rbmattox@bellsouth.net

One More Miracle

Hello Prayer Warrior Friends,

I let some of you know on Friday the news we received from China. It has been found that Ellie's hip and femur are not attached properly. According to doctors in China, she will need surgery and be in a cast for 6 months. We've talked with several other moms with similar experiences who say here in the states the time in a cast may not be 6 months. We would rather her surgery take place here in the states, but it could be 6 months before all of our paperwork is processed and we are in China.

The good news is: This could be the one thing that has kept Ellie from walking until now. This surgery could be the answer to our prayer.

Here's how we'd like for you to begin praying:

Today, in China, the founder of Ellie's foster home, is contacting the orphanage where Ellie was first cared for. The orphange is still "in charge" of her care, though she is now in Beijing. The foster home is reporting the new hip condition that has been discovered and requesting that her adoption be expedited. There are so many children in China, so much paperwork, so many families hoping to bring their children home that CCAA does not always look favorably on such a request.

We must now do our part. I must remember to praise Him. (Help me remember.) We must pray, pray, pray! We must seek God's face. God is a good God, and a great God. He can do anything but fail. He has moved so many mountains out of Ellie's way. He has performed so many miracles in her life already. We are asking for one more miracle. We are asking that someone in communist China, where all people are "supposed" to be treated as equals, look at Ellie, see her condition, her need for surgery, her family ready to help her, and see the need to expedite her adoption. We pray for soft hearts. We pray for smooth paperwork! We pray for speedy travels.

Please join us in requesting one more miracle!
