I teach at an elementary school with 1190 students. There are many special education students here, but one student, Alex, has stolen my heart.
Alex lives in a silent world. He is deaf, and has many other special needs. When I walk the halls, I like to say, "Good morning," to students passing by. I've always made a point to take a few steps out of my way so he will see me wave at him.
Today, I waved at him in the cafeteria. He got out of his seat and came to give me a hug. (That was a first.) Then, I signed, "Thank you." I've not signed to him before b/c I don't know what signs he has learned yet. He was so surprised, he laughed!
I've never heard him make a sound, but his laughter was music to my ears. Can you imagaine how special his laughter is to our Father?

What a sweet post. You are a good woman, Robbi. I'm sure God smiles on you too.
Thats beautiful Robbie! My hearts desire is to adopt a hearing impared child...I'm not sure why since I don't even know sign language and I have not experience.....I have felt this way for quite some time now. Terry
