Why We Call Our Blog the Miracle of More

The miracle is a beautiful image of Ephesians 3:20--more than I can ask or imagine. Every day is a miracle. Every moment is a miracle. Specifically for our family, the miracle of more is our family growing in ways I would never have imagined when we first committed to adoption 8 years ago. But, the greatest miracle is the change in ME!

If you have questions about adoption, our work in South Africa, or spina bifida, please email me at rbmattox@bellsouth.net

Go Brandon!!!

And the Player of the Week is:
BRANDON #51
(Pictured above is Josie-Tatum holding his ratty practice jersey.)

Brandon played an excellent game last Friday when I couldnt' watch him play. He recieved the Player of the Week Award from his coaches and had his picture in our local paper. I'm working at getting copies of some pictures taken by a local photogapher. My best friend Melanie kept me informed each time he made a big play. I would run out to the nurses' station and give a report. He sacked the quaterback, recovered a fumble, and had countless tackles. (Well, he knows the number...I forgot.)

And, Brandon is the BEST off the field and on the field. He's the player on the sidelines firing up the team, has been since he was a freshman. I used to call my my favorite cheerleader on the football team.

Brandon's story is his to tell, but he has long had a place in my heart. When the LORD made the crooked paths straight, our home and hearts were open to him. While I've known him and loved him for nearly 7 years, I've had the privilege of calling him MINE for the past 10 months.

Go Brandon! I love you!

Ellie Update
Today was a much better day. She didn't go to sleep until 11:00 last night, but she slept all night, until 10:30 this morning. She ate a little more breakfast than usual. (I've learned to put milk in her grits to boost her calcium.) She has been pleasant, and only complained when her cast was poking in her back.

And, I'm getting a break tonight!! She is now at Grandma's house, early because she asked me to take her NOW. (This is the first time since surgery she hasn't cried if I left her.) She'll stay with Grandma when JT, C, and I leave for the ballgame. Daddy will have her later when he gets in from work.

So, go Ellie! Go Brandon!!

I'm glad you are able to get a much-needed break. It sounds like Ellie is catching up on some sleep. I hope you are too. That's wonderful news about Brandon. You must be so proud. I hope your upcoming weekend is a good one. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that Josie's chest x-ray shows improvement tomorrow. Hugs.

Bradley was a football Champ(well I thought so)! Oh, those were the days. So I know the pride,:-) They won 3 state championships his 10, 11th, and 12th grade years. He was good but unfortunitely, his back is not made for such brutality(he herniated a disk-but stayed with the team to cheer them on during his final weeks). Really, he's a tough athelete and this crushed him. But God showed him a Bigger plan :-)

The men here are definetely football guys! Go Brandan!!! Terry
