Why We Call Our Blog the Miracle of More

The miracle is a beautiful image of Ephesians 3:20--more than I can ask or imagine. Every day is a miracle. Every moment is a miracle. Specifically for our family, the miracle of more is our family growing in ways I would never have imagined when we first committed to adoption 8 years ago. But, the greatest miracle is the change in ME!

Saturday

Okay, lovely picture of me, I know, but the good news is...Ellie has been eating better today. I've grown a bit worried at how little she is eating. Her little legs are looking too small to her mama.

But, the not so good news is...she did not sleep well last night. She was unhappy and uncomfortable, totally drenched in sweat this morning at 1:15. I couldn't get her comfortable, but Daddy to the rescue. When she couldn't go back to sleep, he got up with her and they watched Diego videos until 4:15. He brought her back into our room, where she continued to chat....I have no idea what time she went to sleep, but she was sleeping at 9:00 a.m. when the phone rang.

She spent the day a little cranky, but not quite as difficult as she was on Wednesday. Josie-Tatum and I spent some time together at Wal-Mart while she napped, and Ellie was most unhappy when she awoke and we were gone.

We ended the day with bath time and manicures. Aunt Melanie and her girls stopped by. Aunt Melanie, to quote my mother, is actually the best friend I've ever had. She and I have been friends since 6th grade. Let's just say we both know far too much about each other. Few people are so blessed to have a close friend for that many years.

So, Aunt Melanie helped with the bath time. She kept Ellie distracted while I cleaned up the cotton on the edges of the cast in those places that are, um, hard to keep smelling sweet. Notice they are playing pirates and swords. Cool weapons, huh.
Then Emilyann, Melanie's oldest daughter, gave Ellie her Tinkerbell manicure.

Let's hope for sweeter dreams tonight.

I'm sorry Ellie's sleep was so fitful. Good thing Daddy could come to rescue so that Mommy could get a few more hours of sleep. Best wishes with all the transitions this week and the return to work. Hugs.
